The day after the first NI Beef Expo has arrived, thankfully, in the nicest possible way. It think I can safely say it was a great day and a roaring success. Im not sure of the exact numb ers yet but it was definately over 2000, which we think for a first time event that the majority of beef farmers havent heard tell of was pretty good. The crowds were rolling in from eight o'clock and we didnt open till 9.00 am. Unfortunately the same applied to some of the cattle going on to some of the stands that should have been on by 7 at the latest!
Anyway it was an action packed day, with 14 cattle breeds represented and a total of over 100 trade stands there was plenty for the visitors to see. There were seminars running throughout the day but the highlight was probably the panel question time which had the arena packed.
There was a good representation from the media there too so watch the farming press and listen out for BBC NI's Farmgate to hear interviews from the chairman and many of the speakers, including me, twice I was so good the first time I was interviewed a second time (and the batteries went flat the first time too).
