British agriculture is once again being sacraficed by the organisation allegedly there to take care of it. DEFRA ( Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs-note the lack of farming in the name) is once again championing the extermination of the family farm all "to deliver lower food prices for consumers, significant savings for taxpayers and a competitive agricultural industry’ not reliant on subsidies". DEFRA could make a first step by ceasing to publish this nonsens and making a few hundred of their staff unemployed and saving the British tax payer money this way.
I hate stating the obvious but do they actually believe we can import food of equal safety, cheaper than we can produce it when the countries were buying from know we cant feed outselves??
