Now I have a few things that I should have had in earlier posts to update you on. Not only do Delta not care about delaying flights they also charge you $25.00/bag for luggage! they are as bad as BA. I think I will be sending some stuff home from here before i head to the southern hemisphere. Number two. Lady luck was shining on me in Denver " unfortunately Mr Haire we dont have any compacts left you have the choice of mini-vans or trucks at no extra charge". Sooooooooooooooo the story goes, William goes out to the parking area and would you believe it I have the choice of 10 mini-vans (people carriers), 2 soft top Jeeps, 4 Dodge 3/4T pickups or wait for it........................2............................ HUMMERS!!!!! Well needless to say I was doing all sorts of calculations, pulling power ( newtonmeters of torque not the other), posing ability, fuel economy. No wait.............please no not that. Well you have probably guessed it by now. Im driving a mini-van.

Back to the purpose of this entry. I visited the TC Ranch yesterday to see their world famous black Angus herd. Was I disappointed, absolutely and positively not. We didnt see them all as they have over 700 cows but took the opportunity to see some of the heifer calf pairs, donor cows and bull calves being developed for the Denver carload. This is one of those places that make me smile. Good honest down to earth cattle people with cattle to match. Wonderful feminine cows with plenty of power, volume, size, great udders and legs. The bull calves were just a few days weaned but were already settled and filled up. There are certainely a few hot prospects there.

Heres a mystery for you. I was directed to this place and fortunately found it reasonably easily. No sooner had I stopped than a couple of other cars pulled up and did the same thing I have done, take their pictures. Its simply a stone base with a plaque and an American flag fluttering above. The only noise that can be heard is that of the grasshoppers "chirping" but you can hear that everywhere.

Where am I and what does this mark?

Wells Fargo Stage coach. These cost about $1200 when new and each passenger would have paid $500.00 for the journey fron St Joseph to California taking upto 3 weeks if they were lucky to make it there at all!
